About Rataplan Ratbikeclub NL

Rataplan is a group of close friends from all over the Netherlands. Our goal is to ride together, work on bikes together and finally... to put the Netherlands on the international ratbike map. We visit national and international rallies regularly made friends with ratbikers in Belgium, France, Germany and the United kingdom.

After the establishment of a Internet forum the idea came up to go and drink some beer together. In april 2003, the first Dutch ratbike meeting was organised by JPI and Floris, with the guys form Highlands in IJsselstein. The Dutch Hardly Ridables was, with about 50 ratbikes showing up, a memorable fact! The same year, some space was rented on the Motorsale bikeshow. Five extreme ratbikes were presented to the general public with much success!

 

In 2004, another DHR meeting was organised and Motorsale was visited again. Meanwhile, some close friendships have formed and a first version of Rataplan Ratbikeclub was founded.
From then on, things went fast.
After some friction between fanatical and less fanatical members, Rataplan made a new start in 2007. since then, Rataplan has a board, an actual membership and a new logo.
